Sylvia says: "Freedom of Speech is important for South Africans.
"But it should be used appropriately and with respect as well.
"Freedom of speech should be encouraged to all individuals from their home environment to open/public areas.
"If it is used as a base from an early stage, surely it will not be abused, as it will be pruned from an early stage, with good guidance, etc.
"If South Africans can be trained from their early background to open up correctly, this will be a solution for hate, hurtful, racial and irresponsible speech, that we see and read in public situations.
"The improving of speech communication from early age of life, enhances the breaking up of silence against child abuse, rape and all unacceptable behaviours that lead to problems which affect the country.
"Freedom of Speech should promote true and sensitive publications. Some South African Newspapers display true but insensitive reporting, influenced by rage and pain.
"I believe this kind of information should be monitored as it could contain hurtful influences."
